Reviewer Responsibilities

As a reviewer for the Journal of Nursing Education and Practice, your role is central to our mission of publishing quality research that positively impacts nursing education and practice. Reviewers will have to share a qualified and timely assessment that determines if the manuscript meets the scholarly merits. It is the responsibility of the reviewer to make sure that the submission is original and is a real contribution from the author. The review must be fully subjective. We only accept those judgements that are clear and supported by arguments.

Providing Constructive and Ethical Feedback

Your review should offer constructive, respectful guidance to help authors improve their work. Aim to evaluate each manuscript's scientific accuracy, originality, and relevance to nursing education, with a focus on encouraging author growth and contributing to the field. Identify both strengths and areas for improvement, supporting your suggestions with specific examples or references when possible.

Timeliness and Accountability

Meeting review deadlines is essential to maintaining a smooth publication timeline. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from completing the review within the agreed timeframe, please inform the editorial team as soon as possible. Your timely feedback is key to our commitment to rapid yet careful publication.

Declaring Conflicts of Interest

To ensure objectivity, disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may bias your review. This includes financial ties, professional relationships, or other connections to the authors or the research. If a conflict arises, notify the editorial team promptly, allowing them to make an informed decision.

Reviewers also have to report any possible violations of ethical standards in the manuscript. Even if there is a suspicion about any aspect, reviewers should alert the editorial team.

Upholding Confidentiality

Your responsibility as a reviewer extends to safeguarding the confidentiality of each submission. Manuscript content, findings, and data are strictly confidential and should not be shared, discussed, or used for personal research purposes.

Thank you for your valuable contributions. Your role as a reviewer strengthens the impact and credibility of our journal and supports the professional growth of the nursing community. Your suggestions can play a vital role in improving the quality of the manuscript. However, if you recommend any correct, specify clearly how the changes will be made.
